lfoch is an experimental LFO generator that offers the ability to create "chase"-like effects with multiple outputs from a single complex waveform.
Key Features:
- 2 LFO generators equipped with phase modulation/ring modulation
- Each LFO generator includes 2 suboscillators, where one suboscillator modulates the phase of the other
- Customizable settings for each suboscillator such as waveform rate, waveform type (with smooth morphing between sine, triangle, sawtooth, and square waveforms), nonlinear curve (for overdrive-like effects), and minimum/maximum range
- The resulting waveform is a multiplication of the two generated LFO waveforms
- Ability to output 1 to 16 points from this waveform as MIDI control change values
- "Playback" (phase change) for each generator can be toggled with I/II buttons
- Option to randomize parameter values using "dice" buttons
- Two modes available for live usage: 'perform' mode with a larger waveform view and selected sliders, and 'edit' mode displaying all controls on one screen
- Each generator can be tempo-synchronized, with the "speed" value ranging from 4 quarters forwards to 4 quarters backwards, with the fastest value being 1/32 in this mode
- When used within an AUv3 host, the app syncs with the host's transport
- The "free mode" setting allows you to operate independently of the host transport
lfoch is available both as a standalone app and as an AUv3 MIDI Effect. The AUv3 effect supports parameter automation and preset saving within the host.
Note: The standalone version does not currently output MIDI in background mode. For AUM users, please be aware that this application begins with 16 control change outputs from CC 0 to 15 on MIDI channel 1. AUM defaults to mapping CC #7 (volume) for each channel, so consider this when configuring your setup.
